Neuroperforma’s mission is to favor the development and the optimization of cerebral capcities, using mainly neurofeedback and biofeedback techniques.
Neurofeedback : a leading edge tool in the optimization of your brain capacities
Neurofeedback is a technique that allows you to improve the efficiency of different areas of your brain, as well as the communication between these regions. Using a cap with 19 electrodes fitted to your head, it is possible to measure with great precision the level of activity and communication between different brain regions.
The training process is based on the widely accepted positive conditioning principle. In order to improve your brain activity in specific locations, we invite you to sit in a chair in front of a television screen. With the help of the 19 electrodes cap on your head, the computer will read in real time your brain activity in 2400 areas. The system will be programmed to play a video only when the targeted regions improve their activity. The brain will take a few minutes to identify which regions are responsible for playing the video. Thereafter, it will start changing its own brain activity in order to make the video play. The brain activity will then be improved and the results will be measured objectively using a quantitative electroencephalogram (qEEG).
Each training program is specifically designed for your brain. Neurofeedback is known to have no side effects and results are known to be long lasting. Each training session has a total duration of 50 minutes.
Neurofeedback will improve:
- Your level of attention and concentration
- Your mood
- Your ability to handle stress
- Your memory
- Your intelligence quotient (QI).
It also allows to:
- Reduce symptoms of depression
- Reduce insomnia
- Reduce the symptoms of attention deficit disorder with or without hyperactivity
- Reduce symptoms following a head injury
- Relieve migraines
- Relieve chronic pain.
You will be pleased to know that this brain training method provides permanent results.
First recognized to reduce or even eliminate seizures in people with epilepsy, Neurofeedback is based on over 40 years of scientific research. In 2012, the American Academy of Pediatrics has even acknowledged Neurofeedback to be as effective as medication to treat ADD (attention deficit disorder) and ADHD (attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder).
The NASA and the US Army use neurofeedback to improve the performance of their pilots and employees. It is also known to improve an athlete’s performance and to optimize stress management among business leaders. Neurofeedback is also the core element of the US Army rehabilitation program for soldiers who suffered head trauma or post-traumatic stress disorders (PTSD).
It will allow you to realize how much power you can have over your brain state.
Would you like having better control on your mindset and your stress? Would you like to know your performance or your recovery zone and have an easier access to it? We can help!!
Biofeedback is used to measure various parameters of your physiology. During a session, we can measure your muscle tension, your galvanic response (measuring changes in the sweat glands), your breathing amplitude and rate, the temperature of your fingers, your heart rate and coherence (Heart Rate Variability). When you change your mindset, your physiology changes. Conversely, if you become skilled at controlling your physiology, it will change your mindset and you will then go into your performance or recovery zone, as you desire.
With our biofeedback equipment, we measure in real time the different parameters of your nervous system. Up to eight sensors can be installed on your body at the same time. We then teach you how to produce the desired neurophysiological state, whether a state of calm, well-being and recovery or a state of concentration and performance.
Become more resilient in stress situations
The biofeedback training program will allow you to:
- Become more efficient in managing your stress level
- Maintain your physical and mental calm in demanding situations
- Increase your physical and mental performance
- Increase your recovery speed and capacity
- Be more focused
- Feel a well being state more easily.
It has been scientifically demonstrated that biofeedback is effective in helping people who suffer from various health problems including anxiety, insomnia, hypertension, headache, hyperventilation and asthma.
For the 2010 Olympics, the Canadian government invested in the training of some athletes in biofeedback and neurofeedback. The first gold medal in the Winter Games, won by Alexandre Bilodeau, highlights the effectiveness of biofeedback to optimize performance in stressful situations. It is also a valuable tool for preventing diseases caused by stress, depression and anxiety.
